Salvation: Beginning a Relationship with Jesus Christ

God loves you.

No matter what you've done or where you've been, God's love for you has never changed. Through Jesus Christ, He offers forgiveness, new life, and the gift of eternal life to everyone who believes.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." — John 3:16 (NIV)

Why Do We Need Salvation?

The Bible teaches that every person has sinned.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23 (NIV)

Sin separates us from God. No amount of good works, kindness, or religious activity can remove that separation.

But God made a way.

God's Gift of Grace

Because of His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world.

Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead three days later.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins so that we could be forgiven and restored to God.

"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8 (NIV)

Salvation Is a Gift

You cannot earn salvation.

It is God's free gift.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." — Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)

Salvation comes by placing your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

How Can You Receive Jesus?

The Bible teaches that salvation involves:

  • Recognizing that you are a sinner in need of God's forgiveness.

  • Believing that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again.

  • Turning away from sin and choosing to follow Christ.

  • Trusting Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." — Romans 10:9 (NIV)

A Prayer of Faith

If you believe these truths and sincerely desire to place your trust in Jesus Christ, you may pray:

Heavenly Father,

I come to You knowing that I am a sinner and that I need Your forgiveness.

Thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross for my sins and to rise again so that I may have eternal life.

Today I turn from my sin and place my faith in Jesus Christ alone as my Lord and Savior.

Please forgive me, make me a new creation, and help me to follow You every day of my life.

Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, teach me through Your Word, and help me to live in a way that honors You.

Thank You for Your grace, Your mercy, and the gift of salvation.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
